After the poster showed up last week, the Sundance selected comedy Prince Avalanche from director David Gordon Green has debuted a new trailer. Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch lead this oddball indie comedy following two road workers repainting traffic lines and replacing road signs on a country highway that has been ravaged by wildfire. Driven by dialogue and two insecure characters, it's a return to indie roots for Green who has been busy with bigger comedies like Pineapple Express and Your Highness as of late. The film essentially blends his indie and mainstream careers and makes for a quirky but charming story. Watch!
Here's the theatrical trailer for David Gordon Green's Prince Avalanche in high def from Apple:
An odd couple of sorts, meditative and stern Alvin (Paul Rudd) and his girlfriend’s brother, Lance (Emile Hirsch), dopey and insecure, leave the city behind to spend the summer repainting traffic lines down the center of a country highway ravaged by wildfire. As they sink into their job in the remarkable landscape, they learn more than they want to about each other and their own limitations in an affectionate but sometimes tense and unlikely friendship. David Gordon Green writes and directs Prince Avalanche which premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and gets a VOD and limited theatrical release August 9th.

I think it's turning him into Jack Black, too.

I'm more excited about the prospective soundtrack by Explosions in the Sky than anything else.
