Ant-Man Trailer

Heroes don't get any bigger than this! Marvel has unveiled the second full trailer for Marvel's Ant-Man movie, starring Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, who becomes Ant-Man. There's definitely a humorours edge to this, especially with the name "Ant-Man", but they stick to their Marvel guns and bring out all the action and kick ass visuals to help sell it more than anything. Michael Douglas stars as Hank Pym, Corey Stoll becomes the villain Yellowjacket, who we see plenty of in this, and the cast includes Evangeline Lilly and Judy Greer. This new trailer is much better than I was expecting, but mostly from a pure entertainment standpoint. I still would've loved to see Edgar Wright's version, but I'm now just as excited for this anyway.

Here's the full theatrical trailer for Peyton Reed's Ant-Man, direct from Marvel's YouTube:

Ant-Man is directed by Peyton Reed (Yes Man) with a script by Edgar Wright & Joe Cornish, rewritten by Adam McKay and Gabriel Ferrari & Andrew Barrer Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world. Marvel/Disney releases Ant-Man starting July 17th this summer.

The trainwreck shot reminds me of that scene of Night At The Museum when they are releasing the air pressure from the van's tires.

Even though the trailer shows a bit too much, I'm way more exited about the movie now than I was when I saw the first trailer

Iron Man 3 trailers shown a lot of stuff, it still hid Mandarin twist. Thor: The Dark World trailers showed a lot of stuff, still hid Aether. Captain America: The Winter Soldier trailers showed a lot of stuff, still hid Hydra. I'll tell you buddy, you haven't seen anything yet 😀

Wow! Totally freakin' stoked for this movie all over again. This trailer pretty much solidified my eagerness. I love how fresh it seems in the MCU; like a "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" with more ants intense fighting sequences. Looking forward to catching this trailer before Age of Ultron and hearing all the people in the audience (who hadn't seen this trailer yet) become impressed!

JBroti on Apr 13, 2015

25

This looks great and still has me pumped about seeing it. I like how it looks like it doesn't take itself too seriously with an epic battle when small but then showing it's insignificance when back at normal size and the Thomas the Tank Engine train set derailing. I'm hoping this will be a wonderful and refreshing counterpoint to the over the top (but still looking forward to seeing) behemoth that is AoU.

Ha! Train scene looks epic .

I like how goofy and fun it looks. The trailer really didn't need the sweeping choir track, I think they're too used to doing that.

Hahha, I have no idea whats going on with this Ant-man character. But this looks like a amount of fun like GoG was, and cast seems in order too. That train wreck was priceless

ProjectionistHP on Apr 13, 2015

37

After GotG and the new Daredevil series(that I think this site should cover) I am willing to buy a ticket to any thing marvel. Helps that this trailer was BAD ASS!

47

I'm scared to. if you were to sell it to me, what would you say? BTW - I'm a huge fan of all Marvel films (although the Thor films are a bit weak IMO)

TheOct8pus on Apr 13, 2015

48

Thanks Andrew! I'll check it out. I wasn't that into Agents of Shield, and I haven't seen Agent Carter (AOS felt too slow paced for me), but I'll definitely give Daredevil a chance.

TheOct8pus on Apr 13, 2015

49

If I'm ranking Marvel's TV shows, I'd have it 1. Daredevil hands down 2. Agent Carter 3. Agents of SHIELD Agent Carter edges AOS because it is a mini-series, which I prefer, and it feels like a direct sequel to/spin-off of the first Captain America film. While Agents of SHIELD is going on 3 seasons of 22 eps a piece, and ultimately just feels like 'other stories' that occur in the MCU. Daredevil is also in that 'other stories' realm, it isn't really hooked into the films, but the nature and scale of Daredevil makes sense in that regard...and the quality of the show more than makes up for it.

Chris Groves on Apr 13, 2015

50

Don't like agents of shield, to childish in my opinion, but I am now watching agent Carter and is very good TV show! Not daredevil good of course but way better than agent of shield!

ari smulders on May 16, 2015

51

This is actually gonna make me look into this. Anytime I think of Daredevil, I sadly get reminded of Ben Affleck. I've enjoyed arrow up till this point when I'm realizing just how cheesy the show is, with bad acting and what not. I have no interest in Gotham, but have been enjoying the hell out of The Flash lately. Hopefully summer will bring me the time I need.

Justin R on Apr 13, 2015

52

The first episode of Daredevil is a million times better than that train wreck with Affleck.

I would say its Marvels foray into HBO style tv show making. Grittier, but still involving things set up in the Universe itself

56

I was tempted, but felt burnt out from watching Arrow and Agents of Shield.

It is much better than both of those, in my opinion.

Dark Knight Trilogy > {Insert Marvel movie}

SallySpider on Apr 13, 2015

63

The reason there is such a disconnect there is that we weren't supposed to get the whole Two-face until the 3rd film, just the reveal, with Ledger's death and the unwillingness to re-cast the Joker for the 3rd film, they had to rush Mr. Dent's character arc.

matthew south on Apr 14, 2015
