Watch: First Trailer for Michael Dougherty's New Horror 'Krampus'

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Universal has debuted the first official trailer for Krampus, from Michael Dougherty, the director of Trick 'r Treat. This time he's bringing horror to the "most wonderful time of the year" in the form the evil Christmas monster Krampus, who comes to torment a small snowy town. The main cast includes Adam Scott, Toni Collette, Allison Tolman, David Koechner and many others. I love how much fun this looks, with the horror kicking in in the second half. I'm a huge fan of Dougherty's Trick 'r Treat and have been waiting for him to make another movie, and from the looks of it, this is going to be just as good. When his dysfunctional family clashes over the holidays, young Max (Emjay Anthony) is disillusioned and turns his back on Christmas. Little does he know, this lack of festive spirit has unleashed the wrath of Krampus: a demonic force of ancient evil intent on punishing non-believers. All hell breaks loose as beloved holiday icons take on a monstrous life of their own, laying siege to the fractured family’s home and forcing them to fight for each other if they hope to survive. Krampus is directed by up-and-coming filmmaker Michael Dougherty, of Trick 'r Treat previously. The script is by Todd Casey, Michael Dougherty & Zach Shields. Universal will release Legendary's Krampus in theaters starting on December 4th later this year.

I just love that poster. I can just picture it on a VHS box with tattered corners in the horror section at blockbuster video. Reminds me of the good old days!

Often times the box art was the best part. If we dont count the obvious gratuitous nudity these movies had back then.

I liked this movie better when it was called THE GRINCH! Can someone direct me to Dr. Seuss' Twitter or Facebook account? He needs to know about this plagiarism right away! I hope he sues the pants off of Hollywood!

Love the poster and the first half of the trailer, which has a highly entertaining funny vibe with a satiric edge to it. The second half looks alright as well, but I hope they don't drop the humor once Krampus appears. But the cast is terrific at comedy, and the effects even look kinda practical, so I'm hopeful this will be good.
