The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Super Bowl Spot

"We have plans for you, Peter Parker…" "Let's go catch a spider." Hell yes! Take a look at this. Marvel has unleashed an extended trailer and the "second half" of the Super Bowl spot for Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 sequel, hitting theaters in early May. The actual TV spot they aired was a continuation of the footage that was teased earlier in the week, but they've also tossed up a full-on 4-minute extended trailer to go along with it. Andrew Garfield returns as Peter Parker, aka Spidey, with Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. This time we meet Jamie Foxx as Electro, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, and Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn. The more footage we see from this the closer it gets to release, the better it's starting to look. Enjoy!

Here's the "Enemies Unite" extended spot for Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, via YouTube:

And for reference, here's the 30-sec Super Bowl spot for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - see Part 1 here:

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is directed by Marc Webb and written by Jeff Pinker, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) finds, life is busy between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can't come quickly enough. Peter hasn't forgotten the promise he made to Gwen's father to protect her by staying away, but that's a promise he just can't keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past. Sony will release Amazing Spider-Man 2 in theaters starting on May 2nd. How's that looking?

I STILL think this movie is looking very "not good". Summer movie season starts on April 4th for me(Captain America) and doesn't pick up again until May 16th(Godzilla).

Sub-Par CGI...Sub-Par CGI everywhere...

I don't know why this is. I just don't understand how such a potential good movie can have such unimpressive CGI?! Really hoping that's just how it looks in the trailers. Hoping they can touch it all up before the movie hits.

hopefully....cuz it looks crap

Sub-par jokes too!! Washing the flag? Cleaning the chimney? Whaaa?

TheOct8pus on Feb 3, 2014

Yeah, it's cringe-worthy. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Days of Future Past are two films where, the more I see of them, the less and less interested I am to see the film.

If you're reading the comments section before viewing the trailers, then I urge you to not watch the trailers. Too many spoilers.

I wonder how much this franchise is actually worth to Marvel? At this point, I do not want to see another Sony adaptation.

DAVIDPD on Feb 2, 2014

10

Don't worry Marvel will probably buy it back when/if Sony nears bankruptcy as many have speculated that they are going down that path...

Their credit rating dropped to JUNK status a few days ago again. It'll end with their mediocrity soon enough.

Idc what any of the Raimi worshipers on this site say, this is going to be awesome!

I love Raimi, but his US flag commercial spidey movies didnt cut it. This is better.

Can't wait for this movie, very excited. One thing though, a pool of electric eels can fix a gap in your teeth lol.

I'm really unsure at why in this day and age, with this budget, that they can't make it look even somewhat natural when spidey is swinging all over the place. Other than that, I still think Sony are doing a better job overall than Marvel did with Raimi. Looking back on those.. Let's not go there.

Zichago on Feb 2, 2014

Raimi's trilogy was under Sony, and he and the studio clashed in the third film, and afterwards, their creative differences lead to the cancellation of Spider-Man 4. Plus Marvel Studios could not have done his films, their first planned project was Ant-Man and their first film was Iron-Man(2008).

I had a feeling I screwed my facts up yesterday. Thanks for clearing that up.

It's Sony, what did you expect?

Liked the characters(except Rhino's suit), I'm a bit unsure about the effects, and they showed too much, they as well would have reveal the ending of the film. Despite that that I will be at the midnight premiere.

Drooling over Bay destroying franchise after franchise by putting lips and mouths on everything? Transformers destroyed, and now turtles.. all looking like the female gremlin from gremlins 2. Marvel movies on the other hand, are holding their own atm, with some quality,

ErrorSapiens on Feb 3, 2014

The Spider-Man movies are based on marvel characters but they are not technically Marvel movies, Marvel Studios are separate. You probably knew this already, and I understand your points, just pointing out that Spidey and the Marvel Cinematic Universe are two different sets of Marvel Movies. Nevertheless most movies based on Marvel properties are indeed holding their atm and (mostly) have good quality.

Either there is something wrong with your keyboard or with your brains. Take a deep breath, switch off the CAPS, have a cup off tea and then try again. Then maybe someone might understand what you're trying to say.

Even when they have the chance of digging a bit deeper (the trailer lasts almost 4 minutes for crying out loud!) they still give us only more CGI crap and not so funny jokes. The only character development they show is rather weak; Spidey forgot Electros name and therefore "You lied to me!!!" so Electro now needs to kill Spidey. Totally ridiculous. Oh, did I mention collapsing buildings? Hollywood, we have had enough of them! Try to make one super-hero movie that keeps all the buildings in place, would be refreshing.

Nash on Feb 3, 2014

25

The depreciation on quality continues

Have Hope on Feb 3, 2014

Surprisingly few buildings collapse in Avengers.I'm really struggling to remember when an entire building collapsed.

Christian Luis Rivera on Feb 3, 2014

The first sequence of the movie. The entire Shield HQ collapses into the ground.

Don't mean to offend Marc Webb, but that trailer and spot was utter garbage. I feel shocked to sat it......but as bad as Raimi's version was...this MIGHT be worse. Looks a total mess....

Have Hope on Feb 3, 2014

Raimi's version was far superior...and actually entertaining.

You people are a bunch of pathetic pricks. Can't you appreciate the fact they are remaking this franchise and taking it in a unique and exciting direction?? Do you have to bitch about everything?? And I bet you morons will still be at the theatre to watch it. If you like it great, if not, then simply pass. Why do you feel the overwhelming need to get online and bitch? Pussies.

Jerome Washington on Feb 3, 2014

Putting "Amazing" in the title is the only way to get that word in reviews. Hated the last one, I was hoping it was "first outing" issues for the crew. Now, I think I'll skip this one as well.

How did three villians work out last time?

Boycott these films and start a campaign to pressure Sony to cut a deal to sell Spider-Man rights to Marvel Studios.

How long will the running time for this movie be??? Three villains with backstory has to take up a good amount of screentime...
