Chef

"Why don't you come back again tonight, I got a whole new menu just for you, asshole." After Robert Downey Jr. designed some colorful posters to promote the SXSW premiere of Jon Favreau's latest directorial effort Chef, the first trailer for the film that also stars the Iron Man director has arrived. Along with some of the tasty food porn on display, this looks like a well done (no pun intended) charming comedy that takes Favreau back to his Swingers and Made roots as a gourmet chef struggling to stay afloat while also piecing his family back together. Plus, there's Dustin Hoffman, Scarlett Johansson, Oliver Platt, Sofia Vergara, John Leguizamo and Bobby Canavale all serving up supporting turns. Watch below!

Here's the first trailer for Jon Favreau's indie Chef, originally from Apple:

And here's the first official poster for the film to go along with it:

>Chef

When Chef Carl Casper (Jon Favreau) suddenly quits his job at a prominent Los Angeles restaurant after refusing to compromise his creative integrity for its controlling owner (Dustin Hoffman), he is left to figure out whatโ€™s next. Finding himself in Miami, he teams up with his ex-wife (Sofia Vergara), his friend (John Leguizamo) and his son (Emjay Anthony) to launch a food truck. Taking to the road, Chef Carl goes back to his roots to reignite his passion for the kitchen -- and zest for life and love. Chef is written and directed by Jon Favreau (Elf, Iron Man), premieres at SXSW this month, and hits theaters on May 9th. Interested?

Fuck...now I'm hungry...and all I have is ramen noodles. ๐Ÿ™ This actually looks pretty good. Time to raid my pantry.

Gotta agree, wasn't sure what to think at first, but this trailer makes it seem like it'll be a good movie.

This is not a trailer, this is a MOVIE SYNOPSIS! If I was in the States, I would organize a class action suit against people that produce "spoiler" trailers that show viewers a movie in chronological order from beginning til end. Dammit. PS: oh yes, now I'm hungry too.

after 20 years of being a professional chef I can say that this movie looks gets one major aspect of the life wrong. there are no happy endings for us cooks.

Looks good.....hope Favs kept Sofia Vergara's screen time to a minimum though. She has no acting chops at all in my opinion.
