Disney & Pixar Plan More Sequels with 'The Incredibles 2' and 'Cars 3'

If you thought we were done with Pixar sequels, news from Disney's meeting of shareholders and D23 Members during the company's annual meeting has some opposing news. Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger revealed that Pixar Animation Studios is working on Cars 3, because merchandising is king at the House of Mouse. But thankfully, we're finally getting the Pixar sequel fans have wanted for years, because they're also working on The Incredibles 2 with director Brad Bird working on cracking the story. We're not sure how far along development is on the sequels, but Disney announcing them is good enough for now.
The news of another Cars film isn't surprising at all because of just how much young boys love those movies, not to mention the millions Disney rakes in with all the toys they can sell. But the news of The Incredibles is just awesome, especially after hearing Pixar was already working on converting the film to 3D for a theatrical re-release sometime down the road. As we pointed out, this year would be perfect since it's the film's 10-year anniversary, but it also depends on just how far away the sequel is from hitting theaters. These animated movies take awhile, so we're betting it'll be at least three years before we see The Incredibles 2, especially with Bird currently working on Tomorrowland for release in May of 2015.

I hate that all the talented people at Pixar are going to be spending their time making a sequel to the worst film their studio has ever done.

No More Sequels. Dreamworks and Disney are now dancing all over Pixar. // CARS 3 is clearly just to keep making money. THE INCREDIBLES 2 is safe and essentially them pandering to fans.

Wanted Incredibles 2 years ago, but now with other studios stepping up their game, I am not as excited like I used to be with Pixar.
