Transformers: Age of Extinction

The Dinobots! It's time. Get your first look at the Dinobots, as well as Mark Wahlberg, T.J. Miller, and Nicola Peltz, in the latest Transformers sequel titled Transformers: Age of Extinction. Paramount debuted a 30-second Super Bowl TV spot for Michael Bay's Transformers 4 which ends on a rather epic shot of Optimus riding out on one of the Dinobots, meaning they're going all out by bringing these guys into the mix this time. As expected there are tons of explosions and lots of badass robot action. I'll be honest, I'm excited to see this. Fun way to introduce us to the kick ass new Transformers movie we're getting this June.

Here's the first Super Bowl spot for Michael Bay's Transformers: Age of Extinction, via YouTube:

Michael Bay is again directing Transformers 4, or Transformers: Age of Extinction, from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger, as his last film in the blockbuster series before handing the franchise off to another director. No plot details are known yet, but Bay says, "We start four years later and there’s a reason why we’re meeting a new cast. We keep the 'Transformers' the way they were. It’s just four years later. There’s a reason the Transformers are redesigned. We’re trying to broaden the franchise and give it more places to go." The new cast this time around includes Mark Wahlberg, T.J. Miller, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles, Li Bingbing. Transformers: Age of Extinction hits June 27th this summer.

Big Dumb Fun. Why not?

DAVIDPD on Feb 2, 2014

My thoughts exactly, we all know the kind of movie this is going to be. One that's worth seeing in a theater, that has a high chance of not holding up well with repeat viewings, and a low chance of becoming a "classic". But it'll be a ride worth the price of admission for sure.

Chris Groves on Feb 2, 2014

3

Yep. I feel at this point, we should all know what we're getting into. Might as well see it with low expectations with the possibility of being pleasantly surprised, right?

Zichago on Feb 2, 2014

4

That was kind of a crappy teaser...

ali3000 on Feb 2, 2014

5

Shouldn't have taken 4 movies to get to dinobots.

Chris Groves on Feb 2, 2014

6

I disagree. I feel if they brought them in too early, they would be ruined. This is perfect timing, i think.

Rock n Rollllll on Feb 2, 2014

7

I agree with both of you. Yea it would've been nicer to have seen them in the original trilogy as those three movies were set in stone (remembering that IF T3 wasn't a success like Revenge of the Fallen, T4 wasn't going to be made) but since it was a success, it's great the last film finally has them. Going out with a BIG bang.

JBrotsis on Feb 3, 2014

Prime, wielding a sword, riding Grimlock. Um Yeh don't care about the people but this should be fun.

Holy Dino Shit! I'm sold.

If you complain about this, i feel sorry for you. Keep walking, you're in the wrong place. Nobody hates this, ROBOTS! and DINOBOTS!! hell yeah

toonfed on Feb 2, 2014

You do know this is what Michael Bay does professionally, using the best and most action packed shots in the trailer just to further deceive you. You remember how excited you were when you saw the Revenge of The Fallen Super Bowl Spot? Good. Get real people, this is just another lame generic CGI,explosions and stupid acting movie which is going to ruined by Mark Wahlberg especially. Michael Bay, "Just put a shot at the end of Prime riding Grimlock and all the fans will be wetting their pants!". I don't know about anyone else but I am not going to be deceived again, I have woken up and so should all of you.

A shitty movie can still be fun to watch, if you go to a Bay movie and expect a good plot with great acting, you are doing it wrong.

Brian Sleider on Feb 2, 2014

16

A shitty movie can be so shitty it's still not fun to watch. A Bay movie with good plot and great acting? HELLO SIR HAVEN'T YOU SEEN BAD BOYS 1 AND 2? Your just making excuses for that poor sap and Bay is getting more lazier than ever. If your the type of person that wets his pants to this kind of thing I already know how low your intelligence level is. OMG CGI! ROBOTS! EXPLOSIONS! *drools* narlllly so goood so amazing! A Transformers movie could be good when done right and Bay has shown no effort at all. All he does is just crams people into the story and there you have your Transformers movie with some robots. Give it to Steven Spielberg if he wants to direct and hell i bet he could turn Transformers into an Oscar winning master piece unlike the garbage Bay is constantly dishing out to the franchise. He is spitting in the face of fans and you support this shit? People like you honestly make me sick. Nearly all of you here to WAKE UP!

Damon King on Feb 2, 2014

17

Getting a bit upset about it, don't you think.

Brian Sleider on Feb 2, 2014

18

Have he or his movies EVER pretended to be anything more than that? No, they haven't. Stop trying to bash his movies for being exactly what they claim to be, it just makes you look like a fool.

davidshaw on Feb 2, 2014

19

UGHHHHHHH OMG A BAY FAN HATES ME OMG WOW! Someone defending Michael Bay's Cinematic Laziness today! Omg wow. I love your level of intelligence also. Durp. Now go back to school.

Damon King on Feb 2, 2014

20

Wow, great comeback, that one really stung. Insulting my intelligence while talking like that? Look I'm sure you live a super lonely and pathetic life and talking shit online is the only way you get any attention whatsoever, but you could at least put some effort into it. Sheesh. Also, if you actually had any sense you'd know that the amount of effort put into these blockbuster movies is the exact opposite of laziness. But I don't care. Go back to jerking off in your dark hovel and wondering "why oh why does nobody like me."

davidshaw on Feb 2, 2014

Usually I don't dig offensive responses like this David, but you simply had no choice.

23

This guy is a TROLL and I wouldn't be surprised if he use to go by the alias Charlie Hard. Simply ignore him people and save yourself the hassle of a mindless argument.

Steven on Feb 4, 2014

24

Says the guy looking forward to The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which is chock full of sub-par CGI. Everyone knows what the deal is with the Transformers movies, nobody has any misconceptions about these being great films, just expecting them to be damn good entertainment.

Chris Groves on Feb 3, 2014

25

Don't forget Chris, Damon has seen only 30 secs of T4 and knows automatically it's going to be a piece of shit even though fans have been crying out for Dinobots, and after T3 was a massive success in the franchise, this entire film is going down the drain. To love a two minute, video game-esque trailer for Spidey over the quick glimpse of detailed f***ing robot dinosaurs....how sad.

JBrotsis on Feb 3, 2014

26

ROTF & DOTM delivered what I expected after TF07: excellent visuals & SFX, crappy dialogue, plotholes big enough to drive Optimus through, and requisite T&A shots... I am not expecting anything beyond the above, in TF4, even with the solid addition of Mark Wahlberg.

VAharleywitch on Feb 3, 2014

27

You know.. as always there is some skepticism in me about every franchise Bay gets his hands on.. Mostly it goes into the production design area.. and not the obvious testicle jokes/bayplosions.. cause they are gonna be there anyway. . seeing the lips of the ninja turtles design making them look like gremlins from gremlins 2 doesnt help... but for this trailer my issue may be stupid, but important: There is NO way in HELL Grimlock would let Optimus ride him like a frigging horse! 😀 haha, now thats just ignorant Bay!

ErrorSapiens on Feb 3, 2014

28

anakinbrego - 2/3/2014, 12:08 AM Will this reboot portray the military as sexy like the last three films did? Will Optimus execute the enemy after they've been knocked down? Will females be portrayed only as sex objects?

anakinbrego on Feb 3, 2014

29

Cannot explain how WICKED the dinobots look!! Yea there are some minor, unexpected changes (horns on Grimlock, two headed Swoop) but it's still BAD-FREAKIN'-ASS!!!

JBrotsis on Feb 3, 2014

30

Is this Transformers 5 or 6? All looks the same to me.

Nash on Feb 3, 2014

31

Those dinosaur robot things look kinda cool.

0:07 = Galvatron!

superultraboy on Feb 3, 2014

33

Looks cool, but it's always kind of the same thing..

DavideCoppola on Feb 3, 2014

34

Well of course it looks awesome people. It was 30 seconds long. Micheal bay has never had a problem making things look awesome. His problem is everything else in between.

Jon Odishaw on Feb 3, 2014

35

I cannot upvote this statement enough!

VAharleywitch on Feb 3, 2014

36

Lame-o

TheOct8pus on Feb 3, 2014

37

This does look entertaining, but the CGI looks unfinished in a few of the sequences, which is expected since the film is still 4 months away, so I hope they do improve on that. Now as far as everyone complaining that this is a piece of shit film and this is shit film making, please understand that this is not Darren Aranofsky or Nicolas Winding Refn or the Coen Brothers, this is Michael Bay. He makes fun, senseless movies that are pure adrenaline filled entertainment with the sole purpose of entertaining you however he can! Take it as that and nothing more.

Is it me or can the visual look of this film be described as "car commercial"?

Snev De la Fontaine on Feb 3, 2014

39

Revenge of the fallen and dark of the moon trailers are still badass by themselves, this one was average compared to them, but I am sure I will check it out none the less.

mooreworthy on Feb 3, 2014

40

Another? Dammit. I wish I could tell who's who or what on this metal garbage fest. That'd make it at least somewhat bearable. I can see Grimlock because it's the only Dinosaur-looking thing there. Who the hell is everyone else? Like...fucking reward me for being a fan of the franchise, like Marvel and even DC (to an extend) do with their movie-verse.

Pabster on Feb 3, 2014

41

Wasnt that Swoop just before the scene with Grimlock?

spidude on Feb 4, 2014

42

Mazda Speed 3 Hatchback, huh?! Sounds like a shi+ job spammer.

Rock n Rollllll on Feb 4, 2014

43

Entertaining, hell yes. But they are called Dinobots, so why not make them look like dinosaurs? The whay Grimlock looked in the last transformers game was great, why not try to make him look like that. Now he looks like a chinese dragon. A KickAss metallic chinese dragon, but still not a dinosaur...

Enola on Feb 4, 2014
