Sin City: A Dame to Kill FOr

"That there is a dame to kill for." Some recent first look photos popped up showing off the return of Mickey Rourke and Jessica Alba in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, not to mention a glimpse of Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Now we get to see more of them and a much better look into the sequel, including the first looks at Ray Liotta, Eva Green, Powers Boothe, and Dennis Haysbert stepping in for Michael Clarke Duncan. As expected, the visuals are gorgeous, and this looks like the Sin City sequel we've all been waiting for from Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller. It's short and sweet, but that's all we need now. Watch!

Here's the teaser trailer for Robert Rodriguez's Sin City: A Dame to Kill For from YouTube:

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is directed by Robert Rodriguez who co-wrote the script with William Monahan (The Departed) and Frank Miller, creator of the graphic novel series and co-director of the first film. Dwight (Josh Brolin) is hunted down by the only woman he ever loved, Ava Lord (Eva Green), and then watches his life go straight to hell. Chronologically, this story takes place prior to "The Big Fat Kill" (seen in the first Sin City) and explains how Dwight came to have a dramatically different face. Jessica Alba, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Mickey Rourke, Juno Temple, Jaime King, Rosario Dawson and many others star in the film being shot in 3D and Dimension Films will send the sequel to theaters on August 22nd this summer. Excited?

Where's Damon to sh*t all over this trailer? Back to the film. Looks great, just more of the first film. JGL I bet does a great job in this.

You know I expected to see a trailer of below sub-par quality as the past trailers for films have recently been. But now I see a trailer of mediocre quality, not bad nor terrible but of a taste I am not acquired to so much. What is that god awful electronic music playing in the trailer also? I am also not a fan of Robert Rodriguez as it seems he has lost all sense of his credibility in filmmaking today with films such as Machete Kills, it's hard to take him seriously anymore. And this whole entire noir style with Sin City went out of touch many years ago, the reason why the first film bombed terribly at the box office. It's a question as I must add, that Sin City should have been left on the pages of the comic books and not on the screen. Well I guess this is best left to the below par crowd that understands this type of cinematic work.

How did the first film bomb? It made almost $200,000,000 on a $40,000,000 budget.

I believe that is a slight overestimate, yes it did cash in on the current market slightly but not as much as it would have wanted to compared to other major comic book releases. Most of it's own profits came more so overseas. Also surely if Tarantino wasn't attached to the film it would have done much worse in revenue. With Sin City being a virtually unknown property towards general audiences I wouldn't blame the makers as like Rodriguez so much. Probably bigger percentage of the people who have seen the film never picked up the graphic novels. It's a gamble like the Zack Snyder adaptation of Watchmen which followed so closely to the graphic novel audiences had trouble gripping to the initial concept.

$160,000,000 box office plus DVD sales on a $40,000,000 budget...his estimate is a lot closer to reality than whatever nonsense you're going on about. An R-rated comic book movie making quadruple it's budget? Unheard of, quite literally. Believe it or not, a movie doesn't have to top a billion dollars to be a success. Of course, you said yourself that you came into this ready to call it sub-par or worse, so I wouldn't really expect any rational objectivity. Then again, defending these movies in any way no doubt puts me in your "below par crowd", instantly dismissed by your expert opinion, so I guess I'll just tell you what you really want to hear: "OMG, The Dark Knight Rises was like totally the best m0vie 3var!"

You really lost me with your last few sentences, I couldn't quite understand it. 3var? m0ve? Okay you really need to check your spelling next time and when did this conversation untimely turn into the subject The Dark Knight Rises? Look I understand how angry you are over my own opinions above but it's not something for you to get entirely upset about, whatever it is I suggest to express it next time more calmly and in a more civil manner than acting like a lunatic. And your saying I talk nonsense, very judgmental.

Finally proof that this film is real! Robert has been teasing this for years and years its ridiculous. I'm totally gonna see this but it should have come out a long time ago instead of his other shit projects.

Can't wait to see this film. When they announced Eva Green was playing Ava I was so happy because she honestly looks like the illustrations. The rest of the cast is comprised of people I love - Jeremy Piven, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Josh Brolin, Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson.... Could go on forever! I trust this movie will be awesome.

I get why people want to see this but I'll pass. I showered immediately after the first one, just to get the filth and darkness off of me. Just not my cup of tea. I will say this: nice to have a film where Mickey Rourke requires no makeup.
