Must Watch: Guy Pearce in David Michôd's 'The Rover' Teaser Trailer

"That feeling you have when you wake up in the morning… When your feet touch the floor…" Wow. A24 has released the first must-watch teaser trailer for the gritty new crime film from Animal Kingdom director David Michôd, an Australia existential western titled The Rover starring both Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson. This is one of those perfect teasers that shows just enough, but not too much, hinting at a rather brilliant "near future" action thriller about a loner in the Australian Outback who goes off to find his car after it's stolen from him. This is one of the best teasers since Interstellar - give this one a watch right away.
I'm a big fan of David Michod (and interviewed him in 2010) and can't wait to see what he's cooking up with The Rover. There is an entrancing, mysterious vibe to this teaser and I'm excited to see what it's all about.

10 years following the collapse of society, a loner tracks the gang who stole his car from a desolate town in the Australian outback with the forced assistance of a wounded guy left behind in the wake of the theft. Australian filmmaker David Michôd (Animal Kingdom) writes and directs The Rover, with a story credited to Joel Edgerton & Michôd. The film is described as an existential western following people from all corners of the world who have come out to the desert to scrape out an existence. Petty criminals, miscreants and hustlers thrive in the Australian Outback, a haven for felons yet again. A24 Films will release The Rover in theaters sometime in "Summer 2014". Wow ! Michod is such a talent. Yeah looking forward to this. Pearce is always good. Rob Pattinson finally getting a chance to show what he can do - he did well in Cronenberg's Cosmopolis in fairness he's making good choices.

Good grief. FINALLY somebody who knows how to do a teaser. Editor should open up a friggin' school on how to do teasers. SO sick of seeing all the best parts of a film in the trailer/teaser. Bravo. Also, this looks right up my alley. Must see.
