"I've seen some horrible things - but nothin' that can't be explained by human nature." "Then you haven't seen true evil." Screen Gems has debuted the first full trailer for Scott Derrickson's (of 2012's Sinister) new paranormal horror-thriller Deliver Us from Evil, starring Eric Bana as a New York police officer who joins forces with an unconventional priest, played by Edgar Ramirez, to combat possessions terrorizing their city. That sounds awesome, so how does it look? Good. It had my attention at the start, then suddenly gets quiet as it becomes all about building suspense. This mostly just a tease, but a good one to start with.
Here's the first official trailer for Scott Derrickson's Deliver Us from Evil, in high def from Apple:
Update! We added another better international trailer for Derrickson's Deliver Us from Evil here:
NY police officer Ralph Sarchie (Bana), struggling with his own personal issues, begins investigating a series of disturbing and inexplicable crimes. He joins forces with an unconventional priest (Ramirez), schooled in the rituals of exorcism, to combat the frightening and demonic possessions that are terrorizing their city. Based on the book by the same name, written by Ralph Sarchie & Lisa Collier Cool, which details bone-chilling real-life cases. Deliver Us from Evil is co-written and directed by Scott Derrickson, of The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Day the Earth Stood Still, and Sinister previously. The film is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Screen Gems. Deliver Us from Evil hits theaters July 2nd this summer. Creepy?

ehhhhh i dont know. All the horror movies today seem to just be around the overused idea of paranormals and possessions. I miss 80s horrors.

I have some hope since the scope seems to be bigger here. Not just 1 house/room/building story. That's what's booring.
