Nothing is more powerful than the human spirit. Wow, this looks tremendous. After releasing numerous Spanish-dubbed trailers, we finally have our first full official US trailer for Juan Antonio Bayona's The Impossible, an intense drama thriller about the deadly tsunami that hit Southeast Asia in 2004. The film focuses on one family, played by Ewan McGregor, Naomi Watts and three kids, who are on vacation in Thailand when the wave comes in. I've been nervously anticipating this, because watching these events is intense, and in the trailer they capture that, especially with how real Bayona makes it all feel. Must watch!
Watch the first official US trailer for Juan Antonio Bayona's The Impossible, in high def from Apple:
Maria (Watts), Henry (McGregor) and their three sons begin their winter vacation in Thailand, looking forward to a few days in tropical paradise. But on the morning of December 26th, as the family relaxes around the pool after their Christmas festivities the night before, a terrifying roar rises up from the center of the earth. Based on a true story, The Impossible is the unforgettable account of a family caught, with tens of thousands of strangers, in the mayhem of one of the worst natural catastrophes of our time. The Impossible is directed by Spanish filmmaker Juan Antonio Bayona, of The Orphanage previously. The screenplay is by his writer Sergio G. Sánchez. This will premiere at TIFF, and arrive in theaters starting December 21st.

After McGregor says, "I'll search all the hospitals...I will find them," I expected this trailer to turn into Taken 2.

I would agree, but it's a true story so there isn't necessarily much to spoil.

" it feels like the trailer revealed everything"... Well, Duh! it's a true story and we will be re-living the moment they went through. I can't wait to see this! And the effects and surroundings look impressive! Not cheap to make this movie!

The whole movie is in that trailer. It's like a "X movie in 5 minutes" version from YouTube. Do you pay to see the visual effects or something?

Yes, I agree, after watching this trailer you know everything about this movie (beginning, ending and full cast) but also about the rest of movies to come within 50 years. So I am pleased to meet so clever guys. I suppose you win mountains of money with lotto numbers, lucky men!
