Upstream Color Trailer

"I was born with a disfigurement where my head is made as the same material as the sun." Whoa. Take a look at this! The very first teaser trailer for Shane Carruth's highly anticipated Sundance 2013 premiere Upstream Color has debuted. This is an out-of-nowhere debut for a film that we didn't expect to see much more from until Sundance, but wow, does it look very… perplexing is the perfect word. This has a bit of an Inception vibe, but it smacks of complete originality in only the way Carruth of Primer can deliver. I love the score and the mystery, it's going to be quite a fun premiere in January. I can't wait to see it! A must watch.

Watch the first teaser trailer for Shane Carruth's Upstream Color in HD on Apple via The Film Stage:

The synopsis for Upstream Color included in the Sundance announcement states: "A man and woman are drawn together, entangled in the life cycle of an ageless organism. Identity becomes an illusion as they struggle to assemble the loose fragments of wrecked lives." The cast includes Amy Seimetz, Shane Carruth, Andrew Sensenig and Thiago Martins. This was officially announced as an in-competition film to premiere at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah this January. Distributor ERBP has also set a March 22nd, 2013 theatrical release date for Upstream Color. We'll keep you updated on this as much as we can.

Love PRIMER... LOVE it! But the trailer for PRIMER (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CC60HJvZRE) had me super excited/intrigued for that film. My excitement for this one, however, comes solely from Primer.

Honestly if I had seen that trailer before the movie, I would have no idea what ti was about, nor be particularly excited. I expect the same with this trailer and movie. Let's hope his softmore is as good as the freshman.

Honestly, you're crazy. The trailer for "Primer" is flat-out bad. This is much better.

It's funny. I remember reading about Primer in the newspaper when it first came out. I never got to see the trailer. I saw it at the Angelika Film Center in Manhattan New York. Everytime I see it it's just as fresh as the first time.

I loved Primer. Although I saw it twice and still don't fully understand it. Shane Carruth knows what he's doing.

This one is looking a little too cerebral for me right now. I get the sincere impression this is one I'll have to rent to be able to sit down and try and figure out at home.

I love Carruth, he's like a film maker for scientists and engineers.
