Star Trek Into Darkness Super Bowl Spot

"I am better…" Boom! Paramount has launched their brand new 30-second Super Bowl TV spot for J.J. Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness, starring Chris Pine as Captain Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, plus the rest of the crew. Now this is how you make a kick ass, short but, exciting 30-second teaser! Packs a punch for only 30 seconds, and I love the way it ends, not too much, just enough, setting up the epic summer that lies ahead. I think J.J. Abrams name carries a lot more weight now that he's attached to the new Star Wars, but this still looks awesome, I can't wait for summer 2013. "Shall we begin?"

Watch the full Super Bowl TV spot for J.J. Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness, in high def via Apple:

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated everything the fleet stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a "one man weapon of mass destruction."

Star Trek Into Darkness is the sequel to the J.J. Abrams-directed reboot of Gene Roddenberry's original science fiction series. The screenplay this time was co-written by Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman & Damon Lindelof. Most of the crew is back, including Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin & John Cho. Paramount is bringing Into Darkness to theaters May 17th this summer.

Star Wars is in good hands.

Yep. I mean--there are those who are saying that Abrams will f-up SW...but hasn't the claim been that SW has been f-up thanks to the prequels?

I don't think it gets much darker than actually going 'Into Darkness'. Quiet looking forward to this.

meh it's not bad it's just bleh... also,Star Wars will be meh and bleh as well... just you wait and see I can't believe how the rest of commentators need so little to get hyped...I guess it's a consequence of years and years of shit from Hollywood so an average movie gets everybody all moist...meh

There is no need to get personal.. the dude is entitled to his opinions, if U do not like it, then counter it

Agree with you on that, Tester... Still, he seems a bit trollish. But, as you said, there are better ways to counter him without getting personal.

Although I do agree with your last statement in general, I do not personally think it applies to this movie in particular.. I think and hope it will be very than the first movie and turn out to be a great movie.. and of course he carries that quality/emotion into the star wars movies

Tester on Feb 4, 2013

That's certainly what could happen. Yes, the first Abrams ST film had flaws, but for me, it's greatest strength was that you gave a s**t about the characters (and the first fifteen minutes had one hell of an emotional wallop).

Scopedog on Feb 5, 2013

Agreed with u Dog, I like to counter with my dipshit Star War buddies that the last ST movie had more emotional impact in the first 15mins than the 3 prequels combined

"I'm better than you at everything"? Sounds very Khan-like to me...

Lots of CGI and noise for the dim-witted audiences out there. Done and done.

So I guess that you've already seen the film, yes? And what's with the "CGI and noise for the dim-witted audiences out there" wisecrack? Seems like a case of NIA/HUA syndrome to me...but I'll say no more than that.
